“Future Directions in the Psychology of Music”
The neuroscience of music evolved over two decades into a well-established area of study. As early career scientists, we are proud to be part of the movement. Advances in Cognitive Psychology (ACP) is an international, open access, peer-reviewed journal following Open Science practices. ACP found its voice 15 years ago with articles on musical performance published by notable scientists in the field. Today, we take pride in promoting high publishing standards and scientific excellence. Now is the perfect time to bring the journal back to its roots as we launch our special issue devoted to the future directions in the psychology of music. We invite you to
bring forth innovative ideas and novel research directions to show that music cognition remains a fascinating and dynamic field.
You can submit until the new extended date September 30th 2022, we welcome submissions of original empirical (including null finding reports) and theoretical papers on the cognitive science of music.
• Accepted manuscripts will be published as advance online publications.
• The articles will be officially brought together as a special issue to be finalized in volume 18(4).
Our editorial team includes:

“EEGlab Workshop”
General topic covered in the specialissue is “EEG signal processing in cognitive psychology and cognitive neuroscience”. EEGlab is a powerful tool for investigating various cognitive processes. The aim of the SpecialIssue is to explore how novel EEG signal analysis methods contribute to better understanding of perception and cognitive processes such as language processing, attention, memory, social cognition and imagery.
The review process will comprise two stages. The first stage will involve submission of an abstract formatted for ACP. The abstract can be up to 250 words long. Following review of these abstracts, authors will be invited to submit a full paper. The timeline for the specialissue and submission dates can be found below.
