Publishing Ethics

Advances in Cognitive Psychology (ACP) is published by the University of Economics and Human Sciences in Warsaw. Manuscript submission and processing is carried out via the ScholarOne Manuscripts system by Clarivate. The editorial board members, their affiliations, and contact information are given in the "Editorial team" tab.

ACP is a quarterly journal, publishing four issues in one volume per year, with up to eight articles per issue.

ACP publishes in an open access model, applying the creative commons attribution non-commercial no derivatives (CC-BY-NC-ND) (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/) license to published articles. Under this Open Access license, authors retain copyright and agree that anyone can copy and distribute their article free of charge as long as (a) appropriate credit is given, (b) the article is not modified, and (c) the article is not used for commercial purposes. All published articles are available for download on the journal’s website. Additionally, published articles are indexed in PubMed within six months of publication on the journal’s website.

Article Processing Costs

Upon acceptance of a submitted manuscript, the authors will be charged with the article processing costs of €300. These cover the production of the final PDF version of the article as well as the maintenance of the journal (website hosting, service subscription). If one of the authors is actively involved in the journal (e.g., as an editor), then the costs will be waived.

Journal Financing and Advertising

ACP is financed by the University of Economics and Human Sciences in Warsaw and the article processing costs. ACP does not undertake any advertising or marketing action. Authors, reviewers, and editors will never be asked to take part in action of this type. Article processing costs do not influence editorial decisions.

Policies in Case of Ethical Misconduct

ACP defines ethical misconduct as the systematic manipulation of the publication process in accordance with the COPE guidelines. This includes, but is not limited to, authorship concerns (ghostwriting, plagiarism, fabrication of data, sudden and unexplained authorship changes) and inappropriate manipulation of the peer review process (e.g., suggesting fabricated reviewers).

In any case where such systematic ethical misconduct is detected, ACP will follow the COPE guidelines. Processing of the manuscript in question will be suspended. Thereupon, the authors will be contacted with a request for explanation. In the absence of a satisfactory explanation, the manuscript will be rejected and the authors’ affiliated institutions will be notified of the detected systematic misconduct.

Additionally, ACP requires authors to clearly disclose any conflicts of interest and/or competing interests on the title page of submitted manuscripts. The editorial team reserves the right to reject a manuscript if such information is missing or indicates potential conflicts.

ACP is also open to contact regarding post-publication corrections, errata, and corrigenda.
